FAQs

  • Moving companies are required to carry cargo insurance. The basic, standard protection is 60 cents per pound per item. At 800 Movers & Co we believe that basic protection isn’t enough. We make every effort to ensure you never have to file a claim. In the event that your items should get damaged on our watch, 800 Movers & Co will fully compensate you for each and every item damaged.

  • 800 Movers & Co cannot guarantee protection or insure items that we haven’t inspected. If you wish to pack your own items, insurance shall be deemed as nullified and protection will not apply to any of your items. If you pack your own items then you assume full responsibility of the risks. When we pack your items we go to extra lengths to properly wrap, pad, and protect each and every piece. We are therefore assuming responsibility for your items.

  • If cancellation occurs within 48 hours of your scheduled move date, a cancellation fee of $100.00 shall be charged to the card on file, in addition to a $25.00 processing fee that was collected to reserve your moving date.

  • We accept Cash, Certified Checks, ACH (Automated Clearing House) network transfers, US Postal Money Orders, Debit and Credit Cards. Card payments will incur a 4% surcharge.

  • A bulky item charge shall be imposed and will vary for the following specialty items: Hot Tubs, Pool Tables, Treadmills, Pianos, Gun Safes. These items require special precautions and planning. As such, bulky items will be billed in addition to the hourly rate.

  • While it is nice to tip exemplary movers, it is not obligatory. Our movers do not expect a tip, but they are very appreciative when they do receive gratuity. It is important to note that the tip does not go to the company itself, but rather directly to the movers who handled your items. Tipping should be reserved only for movers who do an amazing job.

  • We reserve the right to refuse moving any species of exotic, and domestic animals; explosives; perishable foods requiring refrigeration; plants; any liquids; aerosols; combustible and or hazardous items; cash.
